KAFKA ON THE SHORE

Sinopsis

Kafka Tamura is fifteen when he runs away from home, determined to escape an ominous prophecy or find the mother and sister who disappeared from his life years ago. Far from home, his journey leads him to a private library and into a world where the boundaries between reality, memory, dreams, and fate begin to blur. Meanwhile, Nakata, an aging and seemingly simple man marked by a mysterious wartime experience, possesses an unusual ability to communicate with cats. Though he cannot explain why, his path gradually draws him toward Kafka. As their stories unfold and begin to converge, Murakami builds a strange and mesmerizing universe where fish fall from the sky, spirits leave their bodies, and impossible events become part of everyday life. Kafka on the Shore is a haunting exploration of identity, destiny, memory, loneliness, and the mysterious forces that connect seemingly unrelated lives.
